FIGMO*

Hi Love,

It's been good-news-week. At last some response. I've collected all my data except from Kaiser (screw you, Kaiser!) and I've made my decision.

I'm going to work New York University Medical Center in mid-town Manhattan (actually Washington Square area).

It's the only place that offers what I want: 1. a degree -- effective immediately I am eligible for 8 free credits (except in medicine, dentistry, & law) 3 semesters a year (for which I'll probably owe them a hundred years ... but there are ways). Stanford doesn't have a program for graduate work in nursing.

2. good clinical experience. At NYU I can select the specialty I want which will be intensive care or neurosurgical nursing. Stanford will have a position available but I would have to work where ever they placed me.

3. money -- $600/mo, eh! But I won't need a car!! which means a big savings & medical benefits and all that crap & housing for the medical staff at Mayfair a block away. (I probably won't like this but it will be OK for a start.)

Well so much for my big plans. I'm waiting to hear yours.

Chad & Jerome** are singing A Summer Song.
Sweet kisses on a summer's day ...
When the rain beats against my windowpane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you

I fool around,
but I love you,
Barbara

*I had to look this up. It's military slang for "Fuck it, got my orders," and it means someone's so close to being finished at his or her post that he or she doesn't care anymore

** Actually Chad and Jeremy
